If you’re trying to figure out how to build chicken coops then you’ve probably got a lot of questions. There are a lot of things to consider when you first get started, and no doubt you’re looking for the easiest way to get going.
The most important thing to know is that you should not cut corners when it comes to learning how build chicken coops. You want the coop you build to last for a long time, so going for quality could ultimately save you time and money. This means following plans that teach you, step-by-step, exactly what you need to do to build a good quality coop house.
Following the Right Plans
If you want to build your coop yourself, which I do recommend if you want a coop that matches your needs perfectly, then you need to follow the right plans. Plans teach you not only about the design, size and materials of the coop, but they also teach you how to make sure that your coop will keep your chickens safe and healthy – which is the most important thing.
Ideally, you need to build the chicken coop in a high and well drained area. And also, make sure that your chicken coop is spacious enough and has a roost in it. A roost prevents your chicken from being bitten by crawling animals, like snakes. In all my years of raising chickens, I have committed the mistake of not placing roosts for my chickens. In the morning, I found out I lost one chicken because it was bitten by a snake.
These are just a few of the things that guides on how to build a chicken coop can teach you. There aren’t any shortcuts, but if you get the right guide you’ll find that it saves the headaches and the money you would have spent otherwise! If you want to see the guide I used then just click here.
